Chelsea’s player Juan Mata is still playing with the Spanish national team the Confederations Cup in Brazil. The international will face later today the clash against Italy in which seems to be a tough one as the Italians want revenge after losing the Eurocup 2012.
The midfielder wants to repite the experience of scoring to Italy in this semifinal as he did in the last final.
The Spanish has talked to Marca.com before today’s match and he had time to speak also about his colleague Chelsea’s striker Fernando Torres. According to Mata, Torres is the same player at Chelsea than at the Spanish national team. “I see him the same. Now Torres is more confident and physically he’s in very good shape, as he was last season. He scored 4 goals in one match, also scored in the next one… I’m very happy for him. Our strikers have always scored and they’re doing too in this tournament”.
Few days ago Fernando Torres complained about how football fans still keep in mind his first year at Chelsea, when he didn’t perform as expected. His mate Mata admites “many people have been really hard to him during long periods of time at Chelsea. Last season was complicated and I really think he performed really well. He scored lots of goals, important goals in finals. I know him well, I know how he traines and the enthusiasm he puts on every match and trainning. I’m not surprised by things going well for him”.
About his future at Chelsea now ‘The Special One‘ is back at the Blues’ bench, Mata doesn’t pay attention to rumours and he says: “You have to be ready, but I’m quite relax to be honest. From the club I have always been supported and told me I am important to them. That’s what I care about”.
