It seems like Brazilian football is not what it used to be. Or at least Santos’ football isn’t.
That is what ex Neymar’s club supporters thought after watching the team playing the Joan Gamper Trophy against FC Barcelona last Saturday. They replied players with graffitis on the stadium’s walls after the Brazilian was beaten by the Catalans 8-0.
Some of these graffitis claimed “respect tradition” and “shame on you!” on Vila Belmiro’s walls. Another one demanded president Luis Alvaro de Oliveira’s (LAOR) resignation and the rest of the club’s board of directors, responsible of organising the match against Barça within the Neymar’s deal with the Catalans.
This weekend Brazilian media criticised Santos perfomance: “They seemed Tahiti”, said newspaper Lance’s headline.
